HOURS, PAY, & BENEFITS…

Wages are set by a collective agreement with the United Steel Workers Local 1-207.  Wages range from $14.35 to $23.25 per hour.  We offer shift premiums:

Swing shift 3pm – 11 pm, $0.30 per/hr

Grave shift 11pm – 7am, $0.50 per/hr

We also offer a service recognition

Employees employed by the Company for 5 years or less receive $0.30 per/hr

 Employees employed by the Company for 5 years or more receive $0.60 per/hr

THE TYPE OF WORK…

Hourly Production Group

In the plant…

we run a 24 hour operation with 3 separate, 8 hour shifts,

days 7am – 3pm,

swing 3pm – 11pm, and

graves 11pm – 7am

Overtime is readily available

Rapid advancement opportunities available

Our innovative production process is highly automated which creates less manual labour for our employees. 

The Trades

If you enjoy working with your hands and have a keen sense to problem solve consider applying for one of our many trade positions. Openings include:

· 2nd Class Power Engineers

· Electricians

· Waste Water Treatment Operators

Wages range from $24.24 to $37.99, depending on certification.

Shifts are 12hr, 7am—7pm and/or 8hr depending on position.

We have an established apprenticeship program that encourages and supports employees furthering their education in the trades.  Relocation assistance can be provided for those who have the proper qualifications and experience.

General Labour

· Trims product for defects; inspects cut product for defects and foreign material

· Engaged in duties to ensure the sanitation of production lines

Quality Assurance Technician

· Performs laboratory test to determine specific attributes of raw product.

· Responsible for testing samples of raw product for contractual and informational purposes.

Packaging Operator

· Responsible for operating packaging equipment.

· Monitors/Operates metal detectors, case sealing equipment and case coders.

Forklift Operator

· Responsible for operating lift truck equipment to unload, transport and store finished goods.

· Ensures the demand for dry supplies are met in packaging and batter areas.

Production Operator Specialist

· Operates various process specific equipment.

· Safely operates equipment in a manner that optimizes performance while ensuring product quality specifications are being met.

Power Engineers

· Responsible for repair, maintenance of all equipment under utilities and services with emphasis on efficient operation of the refrigeration engine room, freeze tunnels, boilers, steam systems, rooftop air handling units and cold storage.

Millwrights

· Assist maintenance supervisor to coordinate tasks, critiquing on-going and finished work, sets priorities and other responsibilities as authorized.

Line Mechanics

· Diagnoses maintenance problems, installs and sets up equipment, reads and understands prints and schematics

· Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems.

Water Treatment Operators

· Performs skilled work in monitoring and controlling operations of the process and waste water treatment systems
