Barnwell is a village in southern Alberta, Canada. It is located 10 km (6 mi) west of Taber and 43 km (27 mi) east of Lethbridge along the Crowsnest Highway, in the Municipal District of Taber.

In 2006, Barnwell had a population of 613 living in 182 dwelling, a 11.9% increase from 2001. The Village has an area of 0.90 km² (0.3 sq mi) and a population density of 680.5 inhabitants per square kilometer.
